About Amy
My knowledge and experience as a critical care nursing leader, educator and researcher has provided me with the understanding of the impact of communication on individuals and teams, both in life and at work. The conversations that make you feel valued, understood and inspired and the conversations that leave you feeling unheard, under valued and often uncomfortable.
During the pandemic I found myself feeling like I was losing time. That the world had paused but time was still going by. I had a deep desire to make a positive change. Not let this period of time slip by. I wanted to emerge out of the other side with passion and productivity.
My own experience of coaching gave me the space I needed to work out what really mattered to me, to realise how I could evolve and create the life I wished for. Identifying my core values has changed the way I live my life….. not necessarily resulting in big external changes (maybe to come…., although starting my own business is a change and a leap of faith) but internally the shift has been greater. I have greater self-confidence, awareness and a true belief in my ability to create meaningful action towards my goals. I feel I can offer this experience to you.
Going onto complete my coaching training has awakened a sense of purpose and provided me with the knowledge and skills to create conversations with impact, consciously listening and increasing the capacity of others to succeed.
I am passionate about creating safe spaces for amazing conversations. Conversations that are about you! Conversations that are solutions focused, unlocking your inner potential and supporting you to feel confident and aligned in your actions, towards all you wish to achieve in life and work.
I also feel strongly that there is a place for coaching conversations in all workplaces and organisations. I wish to support healthcare leaders and educators to build their coaching capabilities. Enabling curious and courageous everyday and career development conversations. Helping you build coaching cultures where individuals and teams thrive.
Experience
My career to date has been within healthcare and my experience within paediatric critical care has enabled me to grow my resilience, enabling me to adapt and evolve navigating the dynamic every changing world of healthcare. Having observed and felt the impacts of negative communication experiences for both staff and consumers. I wanted to explore alternative ways to positively change the trajectory of clinical, everyday and development conversations.
My passion for supporting, mentoring and coaching others has always been there. However, now more than ever, as we see increasing numbers leaving both healthcare and education industries. It is a priority to create psychologically safe working environments and coaching cultures, encouraging individuals to reach their potential and really thrive. The ripple effect of increasing the wellbeing of one person can spread to those around them. Imagine the possibilities.
